For those of you who love history I shall recall that the word documentary was first used by the NEW YORK SUN in 1926 during the premiere of Moana (1925), a piece of work of one of the fathers of the documentary, Robert Flaherty, filmed in the Samoa islands.

The original vocation of the documentary, the one still used today, was to bring in the cinemas of the great cities the vision of exotic and distant lands, but later in time, the short film was used as a tool of free expression.
